NeurULisboa intends to recruit very motivated and skilled young people of any nationality who have completed a Bologna Masters degree or equivalent in areas related to Biomedicine, from biology and biophysics to medicine and pharmaceutical sciences, from computational science and engineering to psychology and cognition. They should be committed to acquire knowledge and develop skills in neurosciences and to full-time dedication to their project.
Admission to NeurULisboa requires a Bologna Masters degree or its equivalent from a recognized National or International University. In addition to students with degrees in Health and Life Sciences (Medicine, Psychology, Pharmacy, Biology Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biomedical Engineering, …) the Programme also welcomes students from other areas of knowledge (Computer Sciences, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry,..) interested in pursuing neuroscience research.
The CV of the applicants should include previous research experience, at least at the Master level, and scientific production (if any).
The motivation letter may mention preliminary choices of PhD project topics and eventual supervisors that the applicant may have in mind. These are just an indication and do not necessarily mean that the candidate, if accepted to the programme, will need to follow his/her initial suggestion.
Reference letters, although welcome, are not compulsory.
Applicants must hold a good command of spoken and written English as this is the official language of the Programme.
Applicants should register in the PhD program website and fill in or upload the requested information.
Following administrative/academic validation of each application, the Direction Board (DB) will act as a selection committee. The ranking process will respect international recommendations (Standards for PhD Education in Biomedicine and Health Sciences in Europe).
Candidate selection will consider CV, motivation letter and an interview. The interview will serve to appraise the candidate profile by taking into account his/her potentialities, additional value for the research project, innovation and creativity, as well as the conviction that the candidate will be able to successfully conclude the selected/proposed research topic within the dedicated time frame.
To ensure transparency, all information regarding the evaluation process will be available.
